Matthew 6:10

“Your Kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Your Kingdom come…

The Kingdom of God is unlike any other. It is a place where unity, love, and worship are woven together to create a place of peace and rest. Where all people feel safe, loved, and free. When we pray we need to remember that we are praying to a God that is in Heaven who loves us.

… your will be done…

As Christians we seek God’s will because we know His will is perfect. If God is truly a perfect loving Father, then we can trust He has our best interest in mind. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” There is hope in knowing that we can seek God’s will for our life. His plans are to lead, guide, protect, and teach us. No matter what we are facing we can pray and ask for God’s will to be done.

…on Earth as it is in Heaven

In prayer we seek to see God bring a piece of Heaven down to Earth. Remember from last week that heaven is a place where unity, love, and worship are woven together to create a place of peace and rest. Where all people feel safe, loved, and free. As Christians we partner with God in bringing a piece of heaven to Earth. Any time we create cultures of unity, love, and worship a little bit of heaven is present on Earth.
